Hello... My name is Sarah.
First of all, i wanted to thank you for your site. It's really nice to have a site that actually shows the other side of abortion. The side that has helped a lot of women, young and old, who couldn't be able to take care of a child. I think that it's so wrong to try and take away someone's rights on this subject.
But anyways, I would like to share my story with someone.
I had never had unprotected sex, and I always thought I was being very careful with my sexual choices. I had only ever had sex with one guy, who was my boyfriend. So, when I missed my period, I was very shocked. I put it off past 2 periods, denying the fact that there was a chance that I was pregnant. I tried to forget about it, until it started to really bother me...
So then I made an appointment at a local women's clinic. The waiting week was the hardest, every night I thought about what could happen. When I went in, the staff was so helpful. they went over all the options before I got my pregnancy test. When I got it back, it came out positive. I was pregnant. Immediately, everything I was worrying about came true. I burst into tears. Later on that afternoon, I went to another doctor, and they did an ultrasound to see how far along I was. 16 weeks... one week away from having to carry the baby. One week away from not being able to terminate my pregnancy in Canada. So immediately they made me an appointment at an abortion clinic. I went in that day, and got the seaweed inserted to open up my cervix. They then made me an appointment for the next morning at 6:45 am. I arranged to have a friend take me, without telling her that I was going for an abortion.
I didn't have any time to worry about what was going to happen, since it was all done so quickly. But I knew I was making the right decision since I could never give a baby the life it deserved.
The process was so short. I couldn't feel much since I was frozen and they used anesthesia. Afterwards I felt a little nauseous.. but I feel fine other then that. I got the abortion done yesterday, and today I feel great. Everything is back to normal, and I can live my life regularly. :)
