Lilian's Story

I recently had an abortion at a Planned Parenthood clinic. Even though I was and still am certain that this was the right choice, abortion is not an easy experience for anybody to go through. It is inevitable to suffer, at least mildly, both physically and emotionally. However, I do have to say that the staff at the clinic informed me about the procedure, the aftermath and all the risks, did everything to make sure I wouldn't regret my decision and let me know that I can postpone the procedure if I needed to think everything over again. Throughout the procedure, a counselor was in the room to hold my hand and help me relax and the care afterwards was excellent.

Yes, abortion does have an impact on every woman. But there are places who make it easier for you to deal with it, before, during and after the procedure. I hope that none of you will have to go through this experience, but if you do, please do your research and make sure you find a place that will take good care of you. It makes a huge difference.

Just because Congress thinks kids should talk with their parents (before they have an abortion) doesn't mean their parents are prepared for it.
