Could Have

I could have prevented you
I could have prevented what I did to you
Not only you, but him too
Things aren't the same now
Nor will they ever be
I'll never know love from you
Or complete love from him
I can't say I regret anything
But there's always the thought of what could have been
I'm sorry to you, to him, to everyone
I messed up you paid
I thank you though
And apologize too
I hope you and everyone else can forgive me
But I had to do what I had to do
